Are you a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming? Do you see ecommerce as yours to help shape? 3BD is looking for someone who can skillfully bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation and help set the bar for compelling experiences that serve - and even blend - entertainment and ecommerce. You will translate the UI/UX design wireframes into code to produce stunning visual elements and innovative digital experiences that define how the application looks and works. You will have added some back-end development knowledge to your repertoire with confidence to jump into at least one language across the full stack.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Understand and maintain fundamental design principles behind scalable applications and participate in collaborative team efforts with responsive, user experience and user interface design while ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Build websites and applications using our digital experience platforms
  • Work in an agile, rapid development and prototyping environment
  • Assess and understand the differences between multiple delivery platforms (such as mobile vs. desktop) and optimizing output to function on specific platforms
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Maintain core applications including for ecommerce that may be expanded/scaled over time
  • Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide work breakdown and estimates of work, communicating clear project management and timeline needs
  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with UI/UX design team, other non-technical team members, and stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot through admin panels
  • Create and maintain software documentation for usability by others
  • Manage domains and support maintenance of our hosting via AWS and Kinsta

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working as a front-end developer
  • Accomplished in client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks including jQuery
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platform LESS
  • Good understanding of at least one advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, ideally ReactJS
  • Working knowledge of at least one back-end programming language such as PHP, Python or Liquid
  • Comfortable with tech stacks WordPress, Gatsby.js, and Shopify
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git / Mercurial / SVN
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
  • Self-starter, motivated to keep across development and market trends and share ideas and solutions to push creativity and performance
  • Strong interest and/or experience working with entertainment, gaming, and/or other lifestyle brands
