Senior Accountant

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join 3BD. Working closely with the Operations team and various cross-functional teams, you will analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. You will also be responsible for processing vendor payments and submitting customer invoices. You’ll collaborate with all business functions and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Reconcile assigned accounts (e.g. cash, petty cash, credit card/purchasing card) and other balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and send monthly invoices; follow up on open unpaid receivables
  • Process vendor payments, and record expenses in quickbooks according to line of business
  • Review and code travel and entertainment expenses to ensure compliance with 3BD policies
  • Maintain ownership of the capital asset management system and tracking.This includes the maintenance of capital asset records and corresponding depreciation expense. Conduct physical inventory counts and post adjusting journal entries
  • Perform consolidation accounting responsibilities such as posting inter-company journals, reconciling inter-company accounts, and analyzing inter-company margins
  • Perform inventory data analytics (e.g. review of standard costs, raw materials, labor, etc)
  • Assists in preparation of monthly financial management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including variance reports, business summary updates
  • Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of fluctuations in the financial statements
  • Update and maintain the Chart of Accounts in Quickbooks
  • Assist in the preparation of filings for state and local taxes
  • Assist with US and statutory audits
  • Support operations team with various ad-hoc projects and requests

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Strong math and research skills
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of bookkeeping software
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookups, SUMIF, COUNTIF
